KITCHEN UPDATE
Good news! After almost 2 years, we are about to begin our kitchen remodel project! The construction contract was received from Derick, dba Shackbuilt, last week. After reviewing the contract, Keith Stokes, Church Council Chair, will sign the document on behalf of the church. Final construction cost is $340,250.21. All of the permitting process has been completed through the City of Lenexa, and the application for Johnson County Wastewater is in progress. Derick plans to begin his prep work in early June and start the demolition of our 50+ year-old kitchen on June 14th. The completion date is set for early to mid-December.

FRIENDSHIP SUNDAY
Next Sunday, May 30, is Friendship Sunday. Invite your friends to join you for worship! At the 9:00 and 10:30 services, we will enjoy some Gospel music from the men’s trio: Craig Dillavou, Wayne Dothage, and Keith Stokes, accompanied by Ann Foster. Our regular musicians will get a well-deserved week off.

CONGRATULATIONS, GRADUATES!
Graduation Sunday is May 23. High school graduates will be presented with their Bibles in the 9 a.m. service, and then we will continue our celebration in Schneeberger Hall after the service. Congratulations to all of our high school and college graduates!

KINDERMUSIK REGISTRATION IS OPEN!
We are so excited to announce the return of in-person Kindermusik classes at LUMC! Please join us for our summer session, July 5–July 30. Kindermusik classes are offered for kids ages 0–5, and ukulele camps are available for elementary school children! 8 a.m. and in the sanctuary at 9 and 10:30 a.m.

“Pentecost: The Power and Presence of the Holy Spirit”
Acts 2:1–21
On the day of Pentecost, weird stuff happened. Tongues of fire, people speaking in languages they had never heard, and crowds looking at them as if they were completely drunk. All of these happened because of the power of the Holy Spirit. Apostle Paul was able to study the word before receiving the Holy Spirit. He knew all the Greek, he knew all the Hebrew, he knew all the culture, and he knew all the history. He is a better scholar than anyone who ever existed, but without the help of the Holy Spirit he was dead wrong. Without the Holy Spirit we cannot be led into all truth about God.

LAWN MOWING AT LUMC

We’re serving you curbside at Dinner’s On Us, our weekly free meal!
Enter the lot on the northwest side of our property and we will serve you from the extensive sidewalk at our west entrance. Spread the word to your friends and neighbors!
