*NEW MASK ORDER*

As you have probably heard by now, Governor Kelly signed an Executive Order requiring masks to be worn in public beginning today. Executive Order 20-52 can be found here.

What this means for Lenexa United Methodist Church:

Masks are now required for entry into the church building. This applies to Sunday mornings, coming to the office during the week, and coming to any meetings or other activities at the church.

For outdoor activities, including Worship in the Park, masks are encouraged, but not required, IF 6 feet of social distancing is maintained.

Please do your part to keep our church and community safe. Remember, my mask protects you, your mask protects me.

The 9:00 and 10:30 services will also be streamed live on Facebook for those who are more comfortable worshiping from home. Choose the time and place that works best for you!

the July issue of
the MESSENGER

If you usually pick up the Messenger at the church and would like a copy mailed to you, please contact the church office via email or phone.

WORSHIP for THIS WEEK
JULY 12
6TH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST
“The Parable of the Soil”
Matthew 13:1–9, 18–23

The liturgical calendar this year is rich in parables. Appropriately, we start with a parable of new life—the parable of the sower, the seed and the soil. To make our entry into parable season easier, Jesus provides an instant interpretation of his analogy. God is the sower. His word is the seed. We are the soil. Given the right conditions, apple seeds become apples. Peach seeds become peaches. God seeds become…God.
