“Jesus’ Love for
the World”
Isaiah 53:1–5, Luke 4:18–20
“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5). Jesus died to heal every area of our lives. He can heal all our painful episodes, abuses, betrayals and disappointments.

Monday, March 1 | 7 p.m.
The kitchen remodel project was approved at a Church Conference held on January 26, 2020, with an estimated cost of $300,000. As you know, because of COVID-19, construction did not begin as quickly as we anticipated. We are finally expecting construction to begin soon. Due to increases in material costs in the past year, the final estimate is close to $360,000. Even though the motion that was passed gave the Property Management Team the flexibility to approve the final construction price, because the price has increased by more than 10%, the team would like to have another Church Conference to approve the final cost. All members of Lenexa UMC have a voice and a vote at a Church Conference. The conference will be held March 1 at 7 p.m. via Zoom. At that time, click the link below or use the meeting ID & passcode to join.

“Christians’ Unending Adventure”
Mark 1:14–20
Jesus Christ promised an unending adventure to all who accept his invitation, “Come, follow me”—and, by his death and resurrection, the Son of God guaranteed fulfillment of that promise. The unending adventure begins in the here and now and continues in the hereafter—this is our Lord’s promise to “whosoever believeth in him”. And, the great thing about the Good News: Whosoever means me!

ongoing events & announcements
Through Easter Sunday, you are invited to join the Great Plains Conference and our bishop in setting apart a sacred and regular time each day during the next 100 days to pray for our nation and a smooth transition of power using “A Prayer in a Time of National Crisis”. Each Wednesday morning there will be a video on our LUMC Facebook page leading you in this prayer:
God of all the ages, in your sight nations rise and fall and pass through times of peril. Now when our land is troubled, be near to judge and save. May leaders be led by your wisdom; may they search your will and see it clearly. If we have turned from your way, reverse our ways and help us to repent. Give us your light and your truth, let them guide us; through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of this world, and our Savior. Amen.
The food pantry is currently in need of cleaning supplies (laundry soap, liquid dish soap), personal hygiene items (deodorant, toothpaste, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner), baking items (flour, sugar, cake mixes, pancake mix) and basic condiments (ketchup, mustard, salad dressing).
