A Letter From Pastor Ezekiel

Advent season is here! The meaning of Advent is “coming”, and this is the church’s season of waiting for the coming of Christ. Now you may be saying to yourself, “Wait a minute–he has already come. Jesus has already been born.” That is true, but Jesus went back to heaven and said that he would come again. Nobody has any clue when he will come. And so we wait, and we wait in hope.

I was thinking about hope, and I had the thought that hope reminds me of a seed. Hope is planted inside of us, and we hope that the thing we hope for will sprout and grow and come into being. The thing about a seed, though, is that you have to wait for it to grow. And you have to remember it is there, even though you cannot see it.

That is something to ponder as we get into advent season.

Shalom!

Pastor Ezekiel
