Lenten Craft Fair, Pancake Feast, Ash Wednesday & More!

Week of February 13, 2018 – In This Issue:
Lent Blocks

“Fulfilling the Time”

Pastor Peggy Hillmon Preaching
Communion at the 9am service

After being claimed as God’s beloved child, the Spirit sends Jesus into the wilderness to explore what that means for his life. He is tempted to take control of his own life, but chooses instead to depend upon God to provide for his needs.

*During the Lenten season, you might notice scarcity in the pomp and circumstance of worship – this is intentional as we contemplate this season of wandering in the wilderness, and what it means to follow Jesus with our lives.

Blackdog Chalkboard

Fostering relationships and spiritual formation, one cup of coffee at a time

The LUMYouth will meet at Blackdog Coffeehouse at 7am starting Thursday, February 15th. The emphasis for the week in spiritual practices is “Fasting.”

Cultivating relationships through music, conversation, and reflection.

The Gathering is an alternative experience to the traditional Sunday morning worship service. It is a place where we can meet up and recharge in the middle of the week. The time features live music by the Underground Collective, engaging messages, occasional guest speakers, a time to reflect, and an open discussion where we can share our stories and learn from one another.

Operation Eden

Restoring our property

Operation Eden – Lenexa UMC’s Landscaping Campaign – officially launched last week. The Property Management Team is looking forward to “sprucing” up the east side of our property.
We are excited to announce that $625 was raised during Week 2, for a running total of $1,725,

We are asking that all gifts be received by Palm Sunday – March 25, 2018 in order to allow the committee to plan accordingly.

Creating room at the table for 5th & 6th graders

All 5th & 6th graders are invited to Club 56 – a youth group experience, complete with dinner and activities. The next Club 56 is on February 18th from 5-7pm. We meet on the 2nd floor in the Education Building.
