Fourth Week of Lent at LUMC – New Wed. Evening Class & more!

Week of March 6, 2018 – In This Issue:

SUNDAY MARCH 11 – FOURTH SUNDAY OF LENT*
“Darkness or Light?”
Kristen Bell Preaching

Jesus’ response to Nicodemus’ moonlight question leads to a reminder of Moses’ intervention for the people as he lifted up the snake for all to see and receive healing. The healing God brings in Jesus will require him to be lifted up as well. Those who choose to stand in the light of God’s love will find wholeness.

*During the Lenten season, you might notice scarcity in the pomp and circumstance of worship – this is intentional as we contemplate this season of wandering in the wilderness, and what it means to follow Jesus with our lives.

ON SUNDAY MARCH 11th, IT IS TIME TO SPRING FORWARD!
Don’t forget to change your clocks and get to church this coming Sunday!

Operation Eden

OPERATION EDEN UPDATE
Restoring our property

Operation Eden – Lenexa UMC’s Landscaping Campaign – officially launched a few weeks ago. The Property Management Team is looking forward to “sprucing” up the east side of our property.

We have made it past the half-way mark toward our goal! Please send your gifts toward Operation Eden by Palm Sunday – March 25th in order for the Property Management Team to plan accordingly.

NEW WEDNESDAY EVENING STUDY TOMORROW
“The Lives of Great Christians”

Starting this week, we will be launching a new Wednesday Evening class based on the lecture series, “The Lives of Great Christians.” This series takes a deeper look at the saints that have gone before us and is academic in tone.

Join us on March 7th for the “Introduction – What Makes a Great Christian” video and dialog. We will meet in Room 105 from 6:30-7:30pm.

WEDNESDAY EVENINGS ARE FOR EVERYONE
