TREASURE STUDY
The Treasure study continues in all of the adult Sunday school classes, as well as Thursday evening’s Underground Community Gatherings.
 
Even if you are not normally part of one of these groups, you are welcome to join the conversation.  Foundations, Pathfinders and Spectrum meet at 9am on Sunday, Dashers at 10:30am on Sunday, and the Underground at 7:00pm Thursday. 
 
The topic this week 9/21 and 9/24 “Giving Your Treasure Back to God”.  9/28 and 10/1 “Don’t Worry ‘Bout a Thing”.  Come and contemplate what God is saying to you about your treasure.
“Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:21

 


CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS are needed for both 9am and 10:30am classes.  If you are interested, please contact Mary,
mary.clow@lenexaumc.org.

SAFE GATHERING TRAINING 
Adults who would like to work with children and youth at LUMC and are not Safe Gatherings Certified are invited to attend a Safe Gatherings Workshop on Sunday, September 24th at 11:30am. A light lunch will be provided so please RSVP to Mary at
Mary.Clow@lenexaumc.org
. The program can also be completed on your own at home. If you need additional information, or to check if you are certified, talk to Mary Clow. 

HEALTHY EATING PRESENTATION
Monday, Sept 25, 6:30-8pm
Schneeberger Hall
This will be the second in our series of three, free, health and well being presentations.
 
This month’s subject will be “Fabulous Fats”.  If you haven’t already registered, call the church office today and sign up, 913-888-5600. 

HOT LUNCH SERVICE
Join a group of volunteers at Saint Mary’s Kitchen
Friday, October 6, 2017
 
We serve a healthy, nutritious meal to approximately 300 needy people.  We will need volunteers to serve and prepare the meals for a few hours on that day and also people to prepare the casseroles, salads and desserts that are all part of this ministry.
 
We meet at 9am that morning at our church kitchen, where will will load the food into our cars and typically carpool to the site at North 7th St. and Nebraska Ave in Kansas City, KS.  We leave LUMC around 9:20am.  
 
There will be sign up sheets and casserole pans, etc. located on tables as you enter the sanctuary this Sundsay.

HELP SUPPORT OUR BOY SCOUT TROOP
Friday, October 13th from 11:30am to 8pm Troop 186 will receive 50% of all sales at Pizzeria Locale at 95th and Quivera ( in the Oak Park Mall parking lot).
 
Be sure to mention you’re there for Troop 186.

PRESCHOOL AND CDO SAFTEY  –  
For the safety of our preschool and CDO children, all doors to both buildings will be locked during the day.  If you regularly need to get into the building, contact Linda or Debbie in the church office for a code to the west door.  If you don’t have a code, there is a doorbell at the east door to ring and someone will let you in.  Thanks for your understanding and help in keeping our children safe.

paper towels, body wash, toothpaste, kleenex, diapers-sizes 3, 4, 5, and 6, puddings, canned pineapple, mayonnaise, mustard, salad dressings, canned pasta (like Chef Boyardee), beef flavored soups, crackers, canned beans-refried, black, and chili.
Please place your donations in the gray bins outside the church office.
