Food Pantry Needs
Donations to the Johnson County Food Pantry are always needed. We collect these at Church and take them to the Pantry weekly. Healthy snacks and breakfast items are always needed for kids...soup, canned meats, paper goods, cleaning products, personal hygiene products, baby items (diapers, wipes, etc.) and other items are all appreciated. Drop your items in the gray bins near the Church Office. Thanks for making a difference in Johnson County!!Wednesday Night Opportunities for Children

Inclement Weather Policy
If the Shawnee Mission School has closed its day and/or evening activities, so have we. On the weekends, check our website (www.lenexaumc.org) for closures. Use your best judgment; safety is a number one concern. Even if roads are opening up, our icy parking lots and walkways may still be slick. Call the office during business hours with questions (913-888-5600).Prayer Shawl and Yarn Ministries
Receiving a special prayer shawl is like getting hugged from someone who cares. At Lenexa UMC, we invite anyone interested to make prayer shawls to give to someone in need of encouragement and support while going through a difficult time in life due to illness, the death of a loved one, the loss of a job, etc. Patterns (knitting and crochet) and some supplies are available at church. We only ask that you pray for the person who will be receiving the shawl. These get blessed by one of the pastors before being given away. We also make baby hats and booties to give to those in need, and to date have sent them for United Methodist Ministries around the United States and internationally.
If you'd like to join a group while you create, you are welcome to join a the daytime "Prayer Shawl" Group that meets weekly at 10am on Tuesdays in the Library. Contact the Church Office with questions: 913-888-5600 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
