Millennial Parents

Are you a Millennial Parent??? That means you were born between 1982 and 2000!!! Your children are in our ministry here at LUMC! Did you know there were more babies born in 2007 than at the height of the Baby Boom??(credit Jan/Feb. 2010 Children's Ministry Magazine)

So how do we try to minister to you and your children??!! Millennials grew up with technology. You are used to immediate response through texting and cell phones....so that means I will try to respond to calls and emails within 24 hours! And I do text...especially to keep up with my own kids. And now I blog...which I will try to update every week on Mondays!

Millennials put their children ahead of their careers! Way to go! Since you are the primary faith influence in your home, we want to try to help give you the tools to lead your children spiritually. One way will be by using this blog!

Millennials want to make a difference! Service with and through the church is a great starting point and we have lots of safe, fun opportunities.

Millennials are team oriented! I welcome your input on our ministries with suggestions, comments and even complaints!! We will try to do occasional polls and surveys but are always open to your communication! We use teaching teams in ALL aspects of our teaching from Nursery thru Senior Hi for this gives spiritual, moral and physical support to all our teachers. And we truly believe "it takes a village........."!

Millennials are diverse and tolerant. We hope you get the sense that LUMC is a welcoming community to everyone and is striving to increase diversity in our church family. We recognize families of ALL stages and sizes and make-up and try to minister to all kinds of "families". We are also striving to reach out more to the immediate community and work closely with Bonjour Elementary School down the street.

Millennials emphasize family experiences over material things and enjoy family activities.  We try to "MAKE A DIFFERENCE" in your family life and offer lots of family holiday events, experiences ...and this area is growing. Check out our Family Camp out opportunity at Camp Chippewa April 10 and 11!
