About Lenexa United Methodist Church
"The hospitality and warmth of a small church, the programming of a large church"...that's how many members describe Lenexa United Methodist Church. A committed, stable part of the Lenexa community for over 140 years, Lenexa UMC is always adapting to the needs of the congregation and the community. We show Passion in Action through our mission work. We recently consecrated a new education building to house our preschool and children's Sunday school, providing them with up-to-date space, as well as serving other ministries.
Our congregation has an "Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors" philosophy. This means we accept people as they are...opening our church and hearts to all. For more information about our church, including worship times and the style of worship, what we believe, and more, click on the "Visitors Center" link below to the left.
There are Sunday School Classes at 9 and 10:30am for people of all ages. On Wednesday Nights during the school year, an intentional mid-week break occurs. It starts with a catered dinner from 5:30-6:30pm called "OASIS". After dinner there are activities for all ages, including J.A.M. (Jesus and Me) for Kids K-6th grade, and Vocal and Bell Choirs (for ages Kindergarten thru adul), educational opportunities, a monthly parent support group and more.
